An EPROM programmer and an empty BIOS Flash chip is handy if you want to update a motherboards BIOS, but the motherboard is not booting anymore; meaning you can not update the BIOS from software.

Conrad has 7 different universal programmers available at their flash EPROM programmer section. Look for one that supports EPROMs, EEPROMs, Flash-EPROMs, serial-EPROMs, microcontroller, GALs, PALCEs and Low-voltage components.

BIOS chips come in all sizes, but as the programmers are universal you can buy adaptors for all kinds of BIOS Chips.

At Conrad you can also buy your empty BIOS chips. Or you can try to reuse an existing BIOS chip by extracting it from the motherboard with a PLCC extractor.
